Sail and Kite Repairs

Velauno is one of the few shops in the World offering professional, in-house sail and kite repair. Using state of the art machines and materials our expert sailmakers can bring back into action even the most torn up kites and sails. In fact, we are certified to do warranty work for North Sails, Neil Pryde and Cabrinha Kiteboarding.

Repairs are done in the order that they are received. Please rinse with fresh water and dry your kite or sail before bringing it in. Do not bring bars or accessories with it. Remember, some repairs are not worth doing on very old kites or sails that may be suffering from sun damage. Repairs on these sails or kites are done on a prepaid basis.

We can repair, rebuild or replace just about and windsurfing or kiteboarding component including extensions, universals, booms, kitebars, leash systems, etc.

Kite Bladder Repairs

We offer bladder repair and replacement services. Bladder repairs are not guaranteed as it is impossible to control what happens to the kite once it leaves the premises. We recommend the replacement of defective bladders with new, after market bladders which we have available on a custom order basis with rapid delivery.

Board Repairs

We are pleased to offer minor ding repair in house. Some extensive repairs require sub-contracted work. For your convenience you can drop-off and pick up the boards at the shop and pay for the repairs using a credit card. There is a $5.00 or 10% service fee, whichever is highest, which we add to the cost of the repair. Expert sub-contractors do repairs. While we believe that these sub-contractors do great work, Velauno is not responsible for the quality or timeliness of the repairs. We are happy to provide you with their contact information so that you may resolve any questions or discrepancies with them directly. If you wish you may contract the repairs with them directly.

... one of the owners of Velauno was one of the originators in the sport of windsurfing?

Not really but we have doing it since the beginning. We know Jim Drake, the guy behind the original Windsurfer. In fact, we still have the original wood booms from 1976.
